How to open an account
Welcome to a simple, tax-smart way to give.
Opening a Schwab Charitable account only takes about 10 minutes.
There is no minimum initial contribution to open an account.
Let’s review the account open process step by step.
From our website, go to Open an Account and click Complete the application online.
Either select I’m new to Schwab, or simply log in with your existing ID and Password.
First, you’ll review your personal information.Next, create your personalized account name and indicate the source of funds for contributions.
Want to add others to your account? That’s easy. Select Yes, click Next, and go on to provide additional account holder details including email addresses.
You can invest your funds based on your specific goals by choosing from an array of investment pools.
Now simply check the box to provide your consent, and hit Submit.
Your application is set in motion, and any additional account holders have 10 days to complete their part using the 4-digit PIN emailed to them.
Once your account is open, you’ll receive a Welcome email.
Congratulations. You’ve taken the first step toward maximizing the impact of your charitable giving.
