President, Schwab Charitable
Sam Kang is President of Schwab Charitable and responsible for setting organizational strategy and leading its implementation in support of Schwab Charitable's mission to increase giving in the United States. Before assuming his current position, Sam spent three years leading the Service, Operations, and Technology teams. Prior to joining Schwab Charitable, he spent over 20 years at TD Ameritrade, where he held a variety of leadership roles in strategy, technology, and operations.
Sam holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation, is an Executive Sponsor for the Charles Schwab Community Ambassadors Team in Westlake, Texas, and is part of the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association in Tarrant County, Texas.
Managing Director, Relationship Management, Marketing & Partnerships
Fred Kaynor leads the growth team at Schwab Charitable which is responsible for partnering with donors, financial advisors, business partners and charities to increase the impact and efficiency of charitable giving in the United States. During his tenure, Fred has established an extensive, fully integrated marketing, communications, and partnerships strategy that has established Schwab Charitable as one of the nation’s leading grantmaking organizations. Fred brings over 25 years of financial services experience after holding senior-level marketing and growth-related positions at both MasterCard and Visa. He began his career in advertising, managing campaigns for clients such as Kraft Foods, Hunt Wesson, Acura, and First Brands. He is a graduate of Boston College and a former Coro Foundation Public Affairs Leadership fellow.
Fred is actively involved in volunteer work, serving on the Northern California Regional Advisory Council of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as well as in various leadership roles with his local parish. He previously served as a board member with Children’s Council of San Francisco and on the marketing advisory council of the United Way of the Bay Area.
Managing Director, Strategy, Offer & Analytics
Doug Campbell brings 19 years of experience in financial services and oversees strategy, offer and project management, and data analytics for Schwab Charitable. Prior to joining Schwab Charitable, he held a number of leadership positions at Charles Schwab, including leading product teams in Fixed Income, Third Party Mutual Funds, ETFs, and 529 College Savings plans. Doug earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Colorado State University – Pueblo and an MBA from Colorado State University. He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designations and FINRA Series 7, 9/10, 24, 63, and 66 licenses. Doug is active in the community and has worked on a number of public policy issues at the state and local level including water, energy, and mental health. Doug also regularly serves on nonprofit boards.
Michael Maestas, CPA, CFA®
Managing Director, Investment Oversight
Michael Maestas brings over 25 years of investment analysis and capital markets experience to Schwab Charitable as Managing Director of Investment Oversight and Due Diligence. He has 10 years of experience at Charles Schwab, most recently as Managing Director responsible for Alternative Investment Due Diligence. Prior to his time with Schwab, Michael was a long/ short equity analyst at Avalon Global Asset Management and was also the firm’s CCO. Earlier in his career, Michael was an equity research analyst at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Securities. He has also been an Adjunct Professor in Finance at University of San Francisco and St. Mary’s College.
Michael has an MBA from Columbia University, a BSBA in Accounting from Bucknell University, and holds both the Certified Public Accountant and the Chartered Financial Analyst designations. He actively supports several nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area by serving as a board member, a fundraiser, and as a mentor for students and young professionals.
Director, Digital Solutions
Lori Kirkland serves as Director of Digital Solutions for Schwab Charitable, helping to create customer-centric experiences throughout the digital landscape to make it easier for clients to give money to charities. Lori oversees technology platforms and teams which create better digital touchpoints that meet customers’ needs, and she helped guide the digital transformation and cultural adoption of Agile to Schwab Charitable. Lori has over 20 years of digital experience, including leadership roles in strategy, innovation, experience transformation, and product for a variety of companies including WPP and Diageo. As a Certified Customer Experience Professional (CCXP) she has been identified as a global “Who’s Who in CX” by the Customer Experience Professionals Association. She received her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan.
Lori has a strong passion for building community and serves on the boards of her neighborhood association, local garden, and school PTA to improve the connection and growth of the community around her.
Chief Financial Officer
Stephanie Queisert is Chief Financial Officer at Schwab Charitable and leads the accounting, tax, legal, and talent engagement teams. She joined Schwab Charitable in 2015 and has over 25 years of professional experience in accounting, finance and tax in the financial sector. Stephanie previously served as the Assistant Vice President of Financial Reporting, Assistant Treasurer at Janus Funds and Chief of Staff at Janus Capital. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Truman State University and her MBA in Finance and Accounting from Regis University. In addition to her professional experience, Stephanie has held leadership and treasurer positions at several local nonprofit organizations.
Director, Service & Operations
Bryan Gregston is a seasoned professional of 25+ years in the financial services industry. As Director of Service & Operations at Schwab Charitable, he oversees multiple departments in servicing clients, advisors, and charities to help fulfill Schwab Charitable's mission of increasing charitable giving in the United States. Bryan has been in this role since 2015 and joined Charles Schwab in 2010, previously as a senior manager in Client Service & Support as well as Client Experience. Prior to joining Schwab, Bryan worked in a variety of roles during a 16+ year career at TIAA (formerly TIAA-CREF).
Bryan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Economics with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He also completed the University of Denver High Potential Leadership program. Bryan is FINRA Series 6 and 7 licensed, is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow belt, and has his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation. He is a Board Member for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County and is involved with the Charles Schwab Community Ambassador group.
Director, Risk Management & Compliance
Deidre Atkins-Jackson is Director of Risk Management & Compliance at Schwab Charitable. She oversees programs that help mitigate risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to enable the organization’s mission of increasing charitable giving in the United States. Deidre has 25+ years of experience in financial services holding legal and compliance roles at Morgan Stanley/Discover Card, General Electric Company, Bank of Montreal, and Charles Schwab.
Deidre received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science with an emphasis on Legal Studies from Illinois State University and her Master of Jurisprudence with an emphasis on Business Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She supports Dallas Pet Alive, which works to eliminate the killing of companion animals in North Texas, and At Last, a Dallas-based charity that gives kids from less prosperous families the educational resources they need during the home life portion of a school day to improve their academic performance.
