Michael Maestas
Managing Director, Investment Oversight
Michael Maestas brings over 25 years of investment analysis and capital markets experience to Schwab Charitable as Managing Director of Investment Oversight and Due Diligence. He has 10 years of experience at Charles Schwab, most recently as Managing Director responsible for Alternative Investment Due Diligence. Prior to his time with Schwab, Michael was a long/ short equity analyst at Avalon Global Asset Management and was also the firm’s CCO. Earlier in his career, Michael was an equity research analyst at Merrill Lynch and Bank of America Securities. He has also been an Adjunct Professor in Finance at University of San Francisco and St. Mary’s College.
Michael has an MBA from Columbia University, a BSBA in Accounting from Bucknell University, and holds both the Certified Public Accountant and the Chartered Financial Analyst designations. He actively supports several nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area by serving as a board member, a fundraiser, and as a mentor for students and young professionals.
